Since opening in late 2006, Plaza El Segundo has become one of the South Bay's primary retail destinations.
Conveniently clustered in three walkable districts and dotted with whimsical large-scale sculptures, Phase 1A of the complex has opened incrementally with three distinct sections incorporating different architectural themes and retail types--in all totaling just under 400,000 square feet of building space.
The Plaza district anchors numerous popular stores for everyday shopping needs.
The Collection offers an array of upscale boutiques, trendy eateries and specialty food stores.
The Edge is a haven for hip fashion that caters to both GenY and adult shoppers searching for the latest casual styles on the one hand, and a little R&R on the other.

Meanwhile the El Segundo City Council recently approved plans to build Phase 1B of the project, which will be called The Pointe.
Featuring six buildings, The Pointe will add another 70,000 square feet of space to Plaza El Segundo in a heavily landscaped, inner courtyard setting complete with fountains, artwork, seating areas and even a chessboard.
It will differ substantially in design from the rest of the Plaza and target smaller, higher-end lifestyle tenants.
The Pointe will be located on the northeast corner of Sepulveda and Rosecrans.

"Our work with El Segundo City staff, including the Planning, Building and Safety and Fire Departments has been a pleasure due to the accessibility, helpfulness and professionalism of each member of the City's team.
The El Segundo Planning Commission and City Council work with our clients for the Plaza El Segundo project will result in increased tax revenues for the City, many new jobs, and substantial amenities for local residents, businesses and visitors alike."
